George Michael was a pop-music genius, but his kindness to others has also captivated the world since his death on Christmas Day.

This generosity, including giving large anonymous donations to a children's charity and to strangers in need, has been repeatedly cited by his acquaintances in articles in the British press.

Now, the London-based Sun tabloid has reported that his friends in the music and fashion worlds are "rumoured" to be planning a major concert to honour his brilliance.

Names being bandied about include Elton John, Mariah Carey, Bob Geldof, Aretha Franklin, and Andrew Ridgeley. Michael performed with all of them at different points in his career.

“It’s early stages yet but George’s pals are determined to deliver a send-off to remember for him," an unnamed source told the newspaper. “It’s likely to be in the form of a memorial concert and to raise money for the causes close to George’s heart. George was a dear friend to so many people, and there is no way that they will let him go without a send-off fit for a music legend."

Michael also worked with supermodels Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell in his "Freedom 90" video, raising the possibility that they and his close friend Kate Moss might also participate.

Watch Mariah Carey and George Michael in the video for "One More Try".
