N.W.A. cofounder and hip-hop legend Dr. Dre has announced a $10 million donation for a high school performing arts centre in his hometown of Compton.

“My goal is to provide kids with the kind of tools and learning they deserve,” Dre said in a press release. “The performing arts center will be a place for young people to be creative in a way that will help further their education and positively define their future.”

Money will be used to purchase digital-media equipment and build classrooms at Compton High School in Los Angeles. Dre also announced that he will spearhead a fundraising drive to secure money to complete the centre, construction on which will start in 2020.

Gene Simmons of Kiss, meanwhile, has announced that he wants to trademark the devil horns hands gesture seen every time a metal band takes the stage any place on the planet not named Utah.

In his trademark application, Simmons described the sign as consisting of a “hand gesture with the index and small fingers extended upward and the thumb extended perpendicular.” Kiss has of course slapped its name on everything from lunchpails to coffins in the name of making almighty dollars.

You can decide for yourself which one of the two icons is going to heaven and which one is going to hell.
