Machine Gun Kelly at the Commodore Ballroom

How hard-core is Richard Colson Baker, better known by his nom de rap Machine Gun Kelly (or just MGK, for you cool kids)? Well, let’s see… He’s got tracks with titles like “See My Tears” and “Her Song”. Videos on his official YouTube channel include a clip of him acting like a giddy schoolgirl upon meeting the guys in Blink-182, and one of his toddler daughter singing the alphabet song. Oh, and he helps the lame to walk and the blind to see. Well, maybe not. Anyhow, by our reckoning, all of the above makes the 22-year-old Cleveland rapper pretty fucking hard-core indeed, because, let’s face it, there’s nothing more ballsy than showing your sensitive side in the testosterone jungle that is hip-hop. Mind you, it’s probably easier to do that when you spend the rest of your time spitting lyrics about gang-banging ’hos and smoking enough weed to make the entire state of Ohio dizzy. Find out why the likes of Young Jeezy, DMX, Lil Jon, and Waka Flocka Flame have already collaborated with the well-inked up-and-comer when MGK plays the Commodore on Wednesday (December 5).
