Meat Purveyors

Comments

Featuring former Neko Case touring guitarist Bill Anderson, the Meat Purveyors haven't had the easiest ride since forming in 1996. When a band romance went south in 2000, the quartet called it quits, eventually returning in 2002 with a roadhouse-worthy beauty aptly titled All Relationships Are Doomed to Fail. Highlights from that disc include a fired-up, bluegrass reworking of ABBA's "S.O.S." and the sheepish ode to excess "I Have a Devil in Me". Feel free to order doubles when one of the best bands in the ever-powerful Bloodshot Records stable plays the Railway Club on Saturday (February 7). That way you can sing along like you mean it when the Meat Purveyors belt out lines like the "Thinking About Drinking" nugget "I'm not going to drink any more/And I'm not going to drink any less."
