Music Waste takes over Vancouver
You know who needs sleep? Old people, newborn babies, and dead people, that’s who. As for the rest of you, this isn’t the weekend to catch up on shut-eye. No, seeing as how the music portion of Music Waste hits the ground running on Thursday and continues to Sunday (June 7 to 10), this is the best excuse all year to further destroy your already aching liver and your sadly ratched hearing. Pony up for a wristband and you’ll get a genuine assload of topnotch local bands, ranging from the sweaty garage-soul of the Ballantynes (pictured here) to the scrappy punk of the B-Lines to the… Aw, fuck it, we could go on for another 10 inches about all the great acts that Music Waste is offering, including Kellarissa, Isotopes, Hermetic, Johnny de Courcy, Twin River, Trail of Broken Treaties, Spider Legs, the Godspot, Too High Crew, and the Courtneys, to name just a few. But why should we do all the work, especially when we’ve got drinking to do and industrial earplugs to purchase? Check www.musicwaste.ca/ for venue and showtime info.
