Night of Joyful Voices at the ANZA Club

If you want to know the proper way to conduct yourself this holiday season, just ask Charles Dickens. Well, okay, you can’t actually ask him anything, since he’s been dead for 142 years, but you can read A Christmas Carol. Basically, look at whatever Ebeneezer Scrooge did (before those ghosts came along and scared the living shit out of him), and then do the opposite of that. In that spirit, you’ll want to attend Night of Joyful Voices, a fundraiser for Megaphone, a nonprofit publication that helps the homeless and low-income residents of Vancouver. With performances by headlining indie-popsters the Belle Game, along with the startlingly original fiddler-vocalist Hannah Epperson and winsomely earnest singer-songwriter Jasper Sloan Yip, you won’t just be supporting a good cause, you’ll be getting a healthy dose of local musical talent. Drape yourself in your best Dickensian finery (or not), and take your horse and buggy to the ANZA Club tonight (December 6).
