Olio Festival is in the air

With Rifflandia taking over Victoria for the next four days, Jason Sulyma checked in with the Straight to remind everybody that festival season hasn’t ended yet in Vancouver either. “It’s still in the air,” the Olio co-organizer said, adding that this year’s Olio (running September 19 to 23) includes an ever-expanding arts-and-fashion program, along with an eclectic musical lineup that includes Hot Panda, Brasstronaut, Teen Daze, Needs, Julie Doiron, Hard Drugs, the Gay Nineties, Flosstradamus, Ladyhawke, and much, much more.

Sulyma said to look for the festival’s free 28-page brochure in all the best places this week. Among this year’s innovations: Olio wristband and ticket holders can score exclusive retail and dining discounts.
