Santigold at the Commodore Ballroom
Did you happen to catch Santigold singing “Disparate Youth” on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon a couple weeks ago? It was downright embarrassing. Not the performance itself; Santi White and her band did a decent job with the killer, dub-flavoured single. The problem was that White tried to get the studio crowd clapping along, which quickly proved that Fallon’s fans have zero sense of rhythm. Do not be that audience, Vancouver! If you’re going to Santigold’s Commodore Ballroom show on Saturday (May 26) and you are epically hopeless at keeping time, do the right thing and invest in a metronome so you can show up prepared. We’ll save you a little homework and let you know that “Disparate Youth” has a tempo of 152 bpm. Now get clapping!
