Sweetheart at Joe’s Apartment

Fuckin’ A! This is going to be one killer show. It’s not every day you get to see the pride of the Prairies right here in Vancouver, and at a small venue to boot. You can bet your ass we’ll be right up front at Joe’s Apartment on Friday (August 10), crackin’ an ice-cold Labatt Blue and screeching along to every word of “Hollywood”. We just hope Kenny Shields has still got it. Certainly not his hair; that went the way of Kim Mitchell’s years ago. But if he can still reach the high notes in “Action”, we’ll… Wait. What? It’s not Streetheart playing at Joe’s Apartment but Vancouver’s own power-pop upstarts Sweetheart? And the occasion is a celebration of an EP that’s been out since last September? Ah, but you say XOXOX is being rereleased by California-based Porterhouse Records? Okay. That’s pretty awesome. But Sweetheart had better promise to bust out a cover of “Under My Thumb” if they still want us to come.
