Top Less Gay Love Tekno Party at 560

Proving that you can’t always take things at face value, Top Less Gay Love Tekno Party is not a party—it’s a band. And while you can certainly dance to its brand of shiny—and often, weirdly, reggae-tinged—indie pop, it sure as hell ain’t techno. The gay part is anyone’s guess, but the group’s members do sometimes appear shirtless in their promo photos. So there’s that. We don’t know how the management of 560 feels about toplessness in general, though, so if you feel inclined to parade about stripped to the waist while Top Less Gay Love Tekno Party plays a video-release party there tonight (June 7), don’t say the Georgia Straight encouraged you. (But go ahead and do it anyway!) We’d love to be there, but we have a “video-release party” of our own planned, only we’ll be naked from the waist down at ours.
