We Are the City reverts to its classic lineup
We Are the City has undergone some personnel changes in the past year, but the prog-pop trio’s original lineup is back together again thanks to the return of founding guitarist David Menzel. He left the group last year and was replaced by Blake Enemark, but Menzel rejoined after agreeing to play a one-off show in Chilliwack in August. “We’re all pretty positive people, so there weren’t any bad feelings or anything like that,” drummer Andy Huculiak told the Straight about the turnover. “We all realize that we’re so lucky to be in the situation that we’re in, so why not have a great time with it?”
The B.C.–based three-piece is hitting the road later this month for a cross-Canada tour before entering the studio to work on its sophomore LP. “All of us are at the top of our game for this writing period,” Huculiak said. Vancouver fans can see We Are the City’s reunited lineup in the flesh at the Rio Theatre on December 10.
