Wiz Khalifa at Rogers Arena

It’s funny how things change on you when you’re only half paying attention. Or stoned. Or both. We dimly recall when Wiz Khalifa was slinging mixtapes and playing Fortune Sound Club. That was way, way back. Seriously, who can even remember the autumn of 2010? It’s probably all a hazy memory for the rapper born Cameron Jibril Thomaz, too, because this time through Vancouver he’s headlining Rogers Arena. Like, what? And he’s bringing along members of his Taylor Gang, including Juicy J, Chevy Woods, LoLa Monroe, Berner, and Tuki Carter. Once again, the theory that cannabis consumption blunts one’s ambition is shot full of holes; the MC whose releases include Burn After Rolling and Kush & Orange Juice is now a bona fide star. He’s even engaged to Kanye West’s ex-girlfriend and everything! When Khalifa and friends come to town on Tuesday (November 6), you may be tempted to roll up to the show fully decked out in black and yellow. But don’t. That shit is so 2010.
