An investigation is underway after a man’s body was found in the Fraser River.

Around 3 p.m. on March 12, a boat operator discovered a male body in the Fraser River near the Port Mann Bridge.

Due to dangerous water conditions, the body couldn’t be retrieved until the morning of March 13.

According to Coquitlam RCMP, there are no indications of foul play.

The man’s identity has not yet been confirmed. According to the Privacy Act, his identity will remain protected unless the death is considered suspicious and investigators need to further the investigation.

Investigators are working with the B.C. Coroners Service to identify the man and determine the circumstances about his death.
