Updated: missing 26-year-old woman last seen in New Westminster has been located

      Update: The New Westminster Police Department announced on March 17 that Nyakakuma Nyuon has been located.

      Friends and family are concerned about the safety of a 26-year-old woman who hasn’t been seen since Tuesday.

      According to the New Westminster Police Department (NWPD), Nyakakuma Nyuon, who also uses the names Kenya or Kakuma, was last seen around noon on March 12 in the Victoria Hill neighbourhood of New Westminster.

      Nyuon is described as a black female who is 168 centimetres (five-feet, six-inches) tall with a slim build. She has brown eyes and black hair. She is also known to change the appearance of her hair.

      She was last seen wearing black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt.

      According to the NWPD, she has been known to frequent the Downtown Eastside in Vancouver. She may appear disoriented or confused, and she may also be using public transit.

      Anyone who knows of her whereabouts is asked to call 911.
