Murder and attempted-murder charges laid in Tsawwassen First Nation homicide

The Delta Police Department has announced that a 17-year-old male is in custody in connection with the death of a 16-year-old girl and a critically injured 15-year-old girl on the Tsawwassen First Nation Reserve.

The 17-year-old is charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder after the two girls were found stabbed at 10:10 p.m. on February 15.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, Delta police cannot release the name of the accused. He was taken into custody at 11 a.m. today on the reserve without incident.

According to a Delta Police Department media release, the public is not at risk.
