B.C. Liberal Gabby Kalaw opens up an early lead in Vancouver-Kensington

      With four of 116 ballot boxes counted, B.C. Liberal candidate Gabby Kalaw has a lead over incumbent NDP MLA Mable Elmore in Vancouver-Kensington.

      Kalaw has 51.07 percent compared to 40.81 percent for Elmore.

      Both candidates are of Philippine descent, which has attracted a great deal of attention within this community.

      Elmore was elected in 2009 after the incumbent NDP MLA, David Chudnovsky, chose not to run for reelection.
