Former Vancouver mayor Sam Sullivan could be making a political comeback this evening.

After 20 of 155 ballot boxes have been counted, he has 68-vote lead over rookie NDP candidate Matt Toner.

Sullivan's political career appeared to be over in 2008 after he lost the NPA mayoral nomination to former councillor Peter Ladner.

But earlier this year, he captured the B.C. Liberal nomination, defeating former MLA Lorne Mayencourt.
