Two incumbent NDP MLAs appear on the way to being elected in Burnaby, and a rookie NDP candidate is leading who was under fire from the B.C. Liberals.

The NDP's public-safety critic, Kathy Corrigan, looks like she'll be reelected in Burnaby–Deer Lake. With 73 of 131 ballot boxes counted, Corrigan has a 456 vote lead over Shian Gu of the B.C. Liberals.

In Burnaby-Edmonds, New Democrat Raj Chouhan has won his third straight election. With 94 of 133 ballot boxes counted, he has an 982 vote lead over Jeff Kuah of the B.C. Liberals.

In Burnaby-Lougheed, Jane Shin of the NDP has a 22-vote lead over ken Kramer of the B.C. Liberals. The governing party issued several news releases condemning Shin during the campaign.

Burnaby-Lougheed was formerly held by B.C. Liberal Harry Bloy.

Meanwhile in Burnaby North, Richard Lee appears to be cruising to his fourth straight election victory for the B.C. Libeals.

With 79 of 137 ballot boxes counted, Lee has a 534 vote lead over Janet Routledge of the NDP.
