Georgia Straight travel editor Carolyn Ali has won a prestigious prize from the North American Travel Journalists Association.

Ali won the gold award for best bylined travel column for publications with a circulation of less than 250,000 for her Getaways column on the Sea to Sky Gondola, which appeared in the Straight in August 2014.

In addition, Ali was a finalist in the sports-and-recreation (online) travel category for an article on Argentina’s football culture.
