The Canucks have rebounded from Friday's loss to the Devils with a 4-0 victory in Long Island.

It's Vancouver's second win of a five-game eastern road trip that takes them to Boston on Tuesday (February 24) and Buffalo on Thursday (February 26).

But today's win came at a cost: goalie Ryan Miller left the game early in the second period after a collision with teammate Jannik Hansen.

Miller appeared to have a leg injury and was replaced by backup Eddie Lack, who stopped 27 shots to preserve the shutout.

The Canucks were outshot 37-24 by the Islanders.

Canucks forward Zack Kassian continued to show he has a goal-scoring touch by beating Islanders goalie Jarislav Halak at 0:28 of the second period.

It was Kassian's eighth of the season and Vancouver's first of two power-play goals, the second one coming on a snap shot by Radim Vrbata at 9:53 of the second frame. It was Vrbata's 22nd in what's turning out to be a highly productive season.

Four minutes later, Bo Horvat gave the Canucks a three-goal lead on a wrist shot. It was his ninth of the year.

The Canucks' final goal came on an empty netter by Yannick Weber with 11 seconds left in the game. Weber has five goals this year.

Vancouver killed all four penalties it took.

The Canucks are missing defencemen Alex Edler and Kevin Bieksa, who are both out with injuries. But the blueline still got the job done with Alex Biega and Lucas Sbisa each dishing out seven hits. Ryan Stanton delivered four hits.

Because of Miller's injury, Vancouver may have to call up Jacob Markstrom from the Utica Comets. He's having a solid season with a 17-7-1 record. In four games last year with the Canucks, he had a 1-2 record and a goals-against average of 3.00.

Markstrom shares goaltending duties in Utica with Joacim Eriksson, who has allowed 17 more goals this season. Both hail from the town of Gavle, Sweden.

      Why so creepy

Why use such a creepy picture of Ryan Miller? He looks like a moustache twirling villian from Scooby-Doo.

Hey, he was raising money for Movember. Cut him a bit of slack!
