Update (March 6): Coquitlam RCMP sent out this statement: "The Coquitlam RCMP is pleased to confirm that the 39 year-old woman reported missing March 3rd, has been located and is safe and sound. Thanks the media and the public for your assistance."

Angelina Louie was last seen on February 27 and reported missing on March 3.

Coquitlam RCMP are seeking help from the public to determine the 39-year-old First Nations woman's whereabouts, after she didn't show up at a family gathering in Nanaimo.

"We’ve been working very closely with Angelina’s family and loved ones to find her," Corporal Jennifer McDonald, the lead investigator on Louie’s case, said in a news release. "What we’ve learned is that Angelina is very reliable and very close to her family, especially her mom. For her to be out of contact for this long and miss a family gathering with no explanation is extremely unusual and that has us all concerned.

"At this point we have no evidence of foul play and no reason to believe she has come to any harm. What we have is a lot of unanswered questions and we need to talk to anyone who may have seen Angelina since the last confirmed sighting that we know about on February 27th."

According to RCMP, Louie was known to visit the Balmoral Hotel in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.

She has the following tattoos: "ANGE" on the fingers of her left hand, a Playboy bunny on her upper right chest, and "I love Danny" on her upper right arm.

People with information are being asked to call RCMP at 604-945-1478 or 604-945-1482, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

"Anyone who sees Angelina Louie is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately," the release states.

Many aboriginal women have gone missing from the Downtown Eastside and elsewhere over the years.

On February 14, relatives of missing and murdered indigenous women participated in the annual women's memorial march in the Downtown Eastside.
