Vancouver police issue public warning after two women attacked on West Side

Women are being urged to be careful after two separate early-morning incidents in Vancouver.

Vancouver police say a 37-year-old woman was attacked on August 3 at 1:30 a.m. in the West 6th Avenue and Moberley Street area.

A second incident occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m. on August 4, when a 20-year-old woman was walking northbound on Dunbar Street from West 41st Avenue. She screamed and fought off her attacker, who fled southbound on Dunbar Street.

The Vancouver Police Department says the two incidents do not appear to be related, and that investigators are “aggressively following up” on both cases.

Anyone with information about the incidents is being asked to call the Vancouver Police Sex Crimes Unit at 604-717-0603, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
