Australian singer and TV entertainer Rolf Harris faces nine charges of indecent assault and four charges of making indecent images of a child, according to a report in the Guardian.

The indecent assault charges date back to incidents allegedly involving a 14-year-old girl and a girl between 15 and 16 years old in the 1980s.

The indecent images were allegedly created last year.

British authorities say these charges are not connected to sexual offences committed by deceased children's entertainer Jimmy Savile.

The 83-year-old Harris has been a frequent visitor to B.C. over his career and even penned a song, "Vancouver Town", which he performed at the Fair at the PNE in 2010.

In the version of the song above, he mentions the Canada Line, Mayor Gregor Robertson, and the Vancouver Canucks.
