Give TransLink praise for its accomplishments
I generally enjoy your paper. However, I am annoyed by your weekly hatchet jobs on TransLink [“ Compassion requested of TransLink cops”, August 29–September 5].
Sure, our local transit agency has problems, but so does every organization of any size. It wouldn’t kill you to print a good-news story once in a while. Like, for example, this week’s introduction of the 96 B-Line, revolutionizing transit service in Surrey. What, you say you haven’t heard about it? Yeah, sorry about that…it will actually help people.
For a change, why don’t you pick on one of the countless private-sector companies with enormous customer-service issues like, say, the monopoly provider of intercity bus travel to the interior of B.C.? Trip for trip, it lets passengers down way more often than TransLink does. And it’s not like they’re ever going to advertise with hipsters like yourselves.
