The Canucks were already playoff-bound when they took the ice tonight against the Arizona Coyotes at Rogers Arena. And the home team looked exceptionally solid in a resounding 5-0 victory, which included three power-play goals.

Vancouver opened the scoring at 16:22 of the first period on a nifty pass from Henrik Sedin to brother Daniel, who recorded his 19th goal of the year.

In the second period, the Canucks put the game away on a goal by Ronalds Kenins and two more from Yannick Weber.

Then at 16:49 of the third frame, Dan Hamhuis scored his first of the season.

Eddie Lack was solid in goal for the Canucks, stopping all 28 shots on his way to his second shutout of the season.

Meanwhile, the Calgary Flames clinched the other playoff spot in the Pacific Division with a 3-1 victory over the Stanley Cup–defending Los Angeles Kings.

The Canucks and Flames will square off in the first round. The last time they met in the playoffs was in 2004 when the Flames were victorious in overtime in the seventh game.
