What do Europeans know about transit?

Dieter Freundt’s comment in the Georgia Straight reminded me of several futile efforts by a group of “damned Europeans” who suggested many years ago to get rid of two bus stops each block to improve inadequate bus service [Letters, September 19-26]. The answer: we have the best transit in the world and if you do not like it, go back to where you come from. It’s almost impossible for those Canadian-born and -raised to comprehend anything that’s foreign.
