Church of the Holy Smoke pastor will make last-ditch appeal for allowing marijuana as a sacrament in White Rock

White Rock council will reconvene a special meeting to hear a citizen's appeal to let his marijuana-loving church continue welcoming worshippers.

Robin Douglas calls himself pastor of the Church of the Holy Smoke at 14737 Marine Drive. He claims to use marijuana as a sacrament.

Earlier this month in an in-camera meeting, council voted to order the removal of tents and structures because of "health and safety concerns".

Council's motion called the structures "an eyesore" and "unsightly".

Douglas is expected to speak to council today.

Robin Douglas explains his church's belief system.

The Rastafari make the same claim that Ganja is a Holy Sacrament. Suggest examine what happened to 3 of the most famous leading exponents: Bob Marley, Peter Tosh & Bunny Wailer of The Wailers. IMO all 3 suffered marijuana psychosis. Bob Marley was certainly touched by the Angel of songwriting but the human-side can be a real b*tch and he led a generation into the cultic worship of claiming the emperor of Ethiopia was J.C. incarnate, womanizing, quick to anger etc. Shortly before Bob was diagnosed with cancer he stomped a man (Don Taylor) into the emergency room. Peter Tosh was given the ghetto name 'The Barber' in the last year of his life. He took it upon himself to be judge & jury of who was righteous enough to wear dreadlocks and personally pulled out his knife and trimmed the locks of numerous youth in Jamaica. Some of there youth were actually good people. On his deathbed, Bob had time to think about his misdirected life and had a change of heart (although the estate will not speak about that in their efforts to monetize his brand name). Peter Tosh didn't ran out of time to examine his life because he died instantly from a bullet in the head. The surviving Wailer - Bunny continues as an egotesticle blathering spokesman of Rasta.

Get real people! There is no substitute - be it drugs, enthiogens or cult deception - for getting started on your longest journey ... 40cm from your head to your heart. "We are the people we've been waiting for."

The title here is misleading - this has less to do with pot than the fact the site has unpermitted structures and garbage on it.
