Pedestrian killed by car on Boundary Road in Vancouver

      A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in East Vancouver.

      The fatal collision took place early this morning (August 11) as the 47-year-old man was walking across Boundary Road near Vanness Avenue.

      "He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead," a Vancouver Police Department news release states.

      The driver of the northbound vehicle remained at the scene.

      "The cause of the collision has yet to be determined," the release says.

      According to police, the death is Vancouver's eighth traffic fatality of the year, and the sixth involving pedestrians.
