Spooks and spies might benefit from free trade
The fine folk at Communications Security Establishment Canada assure us that they abide by the law [“ Alarms raised over spying”, October 17-24]. They track people’s telephone calls and read their email, but Canadian citizens? No. That would be against the law.
CSEC’s U.S. equivalent also spies on people, but not Americans. That would be against their law.
What a fine opportunity for trade and cooperation between two allies!
