The area near the north end of the Granville Bridge continues to attract the interest of developers.

At the Wednesday (August 26) Urban Design panel meeting, Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership is scheduled to unveil its architectural proposal for a seven-storey mixed-use building at 717 Davie Street.

According to the City of Vancouver website, the proposal will include commercial uses at grade and residential units above. The site is home to the Tsui Hang Village Chinese Restaurant.

If the Urban Design Panel gives a green light, the application would go to the development permit board in October.

Meanwhile, the City of Vancouver has reported a new record for the value of building permits in Vancouver in the first six months of 2015.

Up to July 1, there were $1.34 billion worth of permits awarded.

That's up from $1.12 billion in 2014, which was the earlier record for the first six months of the year.
