Tens of thousands of Lower Mainland residents spent a second night without power.

This morning, B.C. Hydro says there are still 53,000 customers who don't have electricity.

Crews continue working to restore service after a Saturday (August 29) windstorm.

It caused power outages for 500,000 customers, but that number was reduced to 180,000 by yesterday morning.

B.C. Hydro continues to experience technical problems with its website, which has irritated many ratepayers.

The storm also caused significant economic losses as many stores, restaurants, and other businesses remained closed over the weekend because they didn't have electricity.
