Vancouver Canucks sign Henrik and Daniel Sedin to four-year contract extensions
The Sedin twins aren't going anywhere —for the next few years, at least.
Today (November 1), the Vancouver Canucks announced that star forwards Henrik and Daniel Sedin have inked four-year contract extensions.
The matching deals will keep them with the Canucks through the 2017-18 season.
“Daniel and Henrik are exemplary leaders, teammates and humanitarians and we’re very pleased to have them as part of our team for the long-term,” Canucks president and GM Michael Gillis said in a news release. “Few players in the history of this club have had more significant roles in contributing to the success of this team and to our community and we look forward to many more years with their positive influence leading the way.”
News reports have pegged the value of each deal at $28 million.
Henrik is the team's captain, and Daniel is an alternate captain. They joined the Canucks in 1999.
