Police issue warning to sex workers after homicide at Surrey park
Police are asking local sex workers to take extra precautions after a body was found in Surrey's Hi-Knoll Park on October 31.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has identified the victim as Lisa Ann Zielke, who was 41 years old. Foul play is suspected.
"Lisa Ann was a drug dependent Sex Worker who was actively meeting with clients and strangers in the Surrey area," reads a poster distributed by police. "Police are warning women who are engaging in a similar lifestyle to use extra precaution when meeting with individuals and clients that are not known to them."
According to police, Zielke was last seen alive when she got into a vehicle on October 30 at 6:15 p.m. in the 9100 block of King George Boulevard. Her body was found in Hi-Knoll Park with several pieces of furniture, including a brown sofa bed and a wooden table and chairs.
"Investigators believe that the timeline of when Lisa Ann was in the park is very close to the timeline that the furniture would have been dumped. The individual(s) who dumped the furniture may have information about her death and police are looking to identify and speak with them," Sgt. Jennifer Pound said in a news release.
Police are asking anyone with relevant information to call the IHIT tip line at 1-877-551-4448 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
An autopsy has been conducted on Zielke's body, but the toxicology results are not yet complete.
