King George secondary school locked down after phone threat in Vancouver

Vancouver's King George secondary school has been evacuated after staff received a threatening phone call.

The Vancouver Police Department says it is on the scene and investigating.

"The school quickly implemented lockdown procedures and the school is now being evacuated in a controlled manner out of an abundance of caution," reads a statement issued today (December 2) by police.

King George is located at 1755 Barclay Street in the West End.

Update (3:25 p.m.): Police say they believe the threat was a hoax.
