Some Canucks fans at Rogers Arena were undoubtedly hoping for a bit of revenge after their team lost in the first round of last year's playoffs to the Flames.

But in their second pre-season meeting since Calgary worked them over in the spring, the Flames still had the Canucks' number.

Tonight, Calgary defeated Vancouver 4-3 in overtime. It came after a Flames 4-1 win over the Canucks on Friday in the Saddledome in Calgary.

Tonight, Vancouver outshot the visitors 43-26 in their pre-season match.

But a deflection by the Flames' Josh Jooris at 1:37 of overtime gave Calgary the edge.

Three Canucks first-round draft picks played well, which might give fans hope that the rebuilding process is well underway.

One of them, Bo Horvat, scored a goal and was the first star. He was a first rounder in 2013.

Canucks' 2014 first-round pick Jared McCann was named third star after he posted two assists.

Meanwhile Brendan Gaunce, a first-round pick in 2012, scored a goal for the Canucks.

On Friday, another first rounder, Jake Virtanen, scored the only Canucks goal. He was taken sixth overall in the first round in 2014.
