Vancouver pictures of the #SuperBloodMoon resulting from lunar eclipse
Thousands of Vancouverites were camped under the stars last night to catch what's being called #SuperBloodMoon over Twitter.
It was a perigee full moon, which means the moon could be viewed as a complete circle at a time when its orbit came closest to Earth.
What made all of this extraordinary is that it was accompanied by a lunar eclipse, which occur about twice a year.
"For more than an hour, Earth’s shadow swallows up the moon as the planet comes between the sun and the moon," NASA stated on its website.
