The next CEO of TransLink won't enjoy the same perks as his or her predecessor.

That's because the TransLink board announced today that vehicle allowances will be scrapped for all of its executives.

The Mayors' Council on Regional Transportation has also approved a lower salary range for the next CEO.

The maximum is now $406,364 and the minimum is $325,092.

According to a TransLink news release, former CEO Ian Jarvis collected $435,015 in cash compensation in 2014. This didn't include his pension and medical, dental, and extended-health benefits. It did, however, include his vehicle allowance.

Doug Allen, the former interim CEO who replaced Jarvis, was paid $35,000 per month until he was replaced in July.

The acting CEO is the longtime chief financial officer, Cathy McLay.

The job posting for a new CEO stated that a bachelor's degree in business or engineering is preferred.

TransLink has 6,900 employees and oversees a $1.4-billion annual budget. Its responsibilities include operating the transit system and overseeing the regional road network.
