The Vancouver Canucks reeled off their sixth consecutive victory tonight with a 4-0 drubbing of the Edmonton Oilers.

Roberto Luongo turned aside 19 shots in nailing down his third shutout of the season.

The Canucks have only allowed one goal in three games.

Tonight, defenceman Jason Garrison posted a career-high three assists, leading the team in points. Ryan Kesler had two assists, including a beautiful back pass to Chris Higgins for the team's third goal.

The Canucks converted both power-play opportunities.

Daniel Sedin scored the first power-play marker on a slapshot at 8:41 of the second period.

Dale Weise scored the other goal with a man advantage in the final minute of the game.

The other Canuck goal came from Zack Kassian on a deflected shot from near the point by David Booth.

The Oilers didn't play with a lot of heart, rarely keeping much pressure on the Canucks.

Edmonton goalie Devon Dubnyk was sharp in the first two periods, keeping his team in the game.

After the game, Canucks coach John Tortorella praised Kassian, saying he played well.

"I thought he made good decisions with the puck," Tortorella said.

It stood in contrast to Tortorella's recent postgame comments about Kassian.

At one point in the news conference, Tortorella was asked about the Sedins—in particular, disparaging comments by commentator and former coach Mike Milbury.

"Who cares what Mike Milbury says, really," Tortorella responded.

Later, the coach added: "It makes me sick. People take potshots and they don't have a clue."

The Canucks end their homestand tomorrow (December 14) against the Boston Bruins.
