The Langley RCMP has revealed some of the details concerning gunfire at the corner of 200 Street and 72 Avenue around 1 p.m. on Christmas Day.

According to police news release, it came when Surrey RCMP vehicles entered Langley in pursuit of a stolen vehicle.

There was a collision near the normally busy intersection as Mounties tried to stop the suspects.

"There has been a shooting involving the police officers," the news release reveals.

Police add that "no injuries have been reported and the suspects fled in the stolen vehicle."
