Vancouver Canucks continue winning ways with 2-0 victory in Calgary
Canucks goalie Eddie Lack is now third in the league in goals-against average after shutting out the Flames.
Vancouver won 2-0 on on a first-period goal by Jannik Hansen and and a third-period marker by Mike Santorelli.
Calgary fired 18 shots on Lack, including 10 in the third period.
It's Lack's seventh win of the year and drives down his goals-against average to 1.74.
Number one goalie Roberto Luongo has a lower-body injury and was not dressed for tonight's game.
Meanwhile, the Canucks are 10-1-1 in the last 12 games.
Despite an incredible streak in December, the Canucks remain in fourth place in the Pacific Division with 52 points in 40 games.
Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks are two points ahead, though each has played fewer games than Vancouver. Anaheim Ducks are well in front in the Pacific Division with 61 points in 40 games.
The Canucks suffered one setback tonight, losing another defencemen following injuries earlier this season to Alex Edler and Ryan Stanton.
Blueliner Andrew Alberts left early in the first period after a brutal elbow to the head from Brian McGrattan.
Canucks heavyweight Tom Sestito immediately dropped the gloves and went toe-to-toe with McGrattan, who ended up with a five-minute elbowing major, a five-minute fighting major, and a game misconduct.
Tomorrow night, the Canucks are back at home against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Why is sports a news item? And why are Canadians so bloody obsessed with it?
