North Vancouver mosque receives bomb threat

      A mosque in North Vancouver was evacuated on Monday (December 30) after police received a bomb threat.

      North Vancouver RCMP searched the mosque in the 300 block of Lynn Avenue and didn't find any explosives.

      "Police, taking the threat seriously, evacuated the approximately 15 people in the hall and secured the area. The building was searched by Officers and a Police Explosive Dog. No bomb was located," an RCMP news release states.

      According to police, an unknown man phoned in the threat around 6 p.m. on Monday.

      "Police are continuing their investigation by speaking to Mosque officials in attempts to identify the caller and any motive for the threat," the RCMP release says.
