After record year for murders in Surrey, police investigate a suspicious New Year's Day death
Police have taken a 23-year-old man into custody after a 19-year-old woman fell to her death from a 26th-storey apartment near the King George Station.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is overseeing the probe of what it's calling a "suspicius death".
Crown counsel has not laid charges and no information is available about the victim's identity.
Police told reporters at a news conference that officers observed the woman falling to her death. They were responding to a domestic dispute at the building at King George Highway and 100 Avenue.
Last year, there were 25 murders in Surrey, which is a record for B.C.'s second largest city.
