An 81-year-old woman of Asian descent, Ching Chi Lam, has not been found after walking away from her East Vancouver home on New Year's Day.

She's 5'2" and 120 pounds, with short black hair and glasses.

Vancouver police issued a news release saying that Lam "speaks limited English and walks with the assistance of a walker".

She lives on Harrison Drive near Victoria Drive, and is a frequent user of transit, often travelling by bus or train to Aberdeen Centre in Richmond.

Lam also sometimes rides the SeaBus to Lonsdale Quay on the North Shore.

Anyone who sees Lam is being asked to contact 911 and remain with her until police arrive.
