A Surrey man is facing charges in connection to the deaths of three people last year.

According to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, 32-year-old Sarbjit Bains has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in relation to the homicides of Jill Lyons and Karen Nabors in New Westminster, and one count of second-degree murder and one count of indignity to human remains in relation to the death of Amritpal Saran in Surrey.

Another Surrey resident, 36-year-old Evelina Urbaniak, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder and indignity to human remains in connection with Saran's death.

Lyons and Nabors, who both worked as escorts, were found dead in the same apartment building on different days in August.

Last February, Saran's burned body was discovered in the 12100 block of Colebrook Road in Surrey.

On January 3, police arrested Bains and Urbaniak, who made their first court appearances today (January 6).
