Hayley Wickenheiser will carry the flag for Canada at the Sochi Olympics
A five-time Olympian with three gold medals will lead Canada's Olympic team at the opening ceremony in Sochi.
Hayley Wickenheiser, the 35-year-old captain of the Canadian women's hockey team, called this an "incredible honour".
She joined the Canadian women's national team in 1994 at the age of 15.
The squad won gold in the Vancouver, Turin, and Salt Lake City Olympics. She collected a silver medal with the women's hockey team in Nagano.
Wickenheiser also competed in softball in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.
Before the 2010 Games in Vancouver, she told the Georgia Straight: “I didn’t know women played hockey until I was 12, when I watched the world championship in 1990. I looked up to Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier.”
She was the first woman to score a point in a men's professional game when she played with Kirkkonummen Salamat of the Finnish second division.

I doubt though that there's a single flag of any nation that isn't blemished to some extent.
