If the weather seemed chilly to Vancouver residents this weekend, then it's going to be positively freezing later this week.

That's because Environment Canada has issued a weather alert forecasting Arctic Air coming to the south coast of B.C. late Monday (November 23) and early Tuesday (November 24).

It will remain for four to six days.

"As the leading edge of the coldest air of the season arrives, bursts of snow flurries may rapidly reduce visibility," Environment Canada stated. "Local snowfalls of a few centimetres are possible as the Arctic air arrives."

Wind-chill temperatures willl reach the equivalent of -10 °C and -15 °C, according to the alert.

There will be at least 15 centimetres of snow in Whistler from tonight through Monday night.
