The C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group has long been at the forefront of governmental organizations tackling global warming.

And today, one of its publications included three City of Vancouver strategies in its list of 100 tangible solutions being taken around the world to address the problem of rising greenhouse-gas emissions.

Cities100 was created by the C40 network in partnership with Sustainia and Realdania, which is a private association in Denmark that supports philanthropic endeavours.

The publication credits Vancouvers' Greenest City Action Plan, climate-change adaptation strategy, and neighbourhood energy strategy as examples of approaches that can be replicated around the world.

Earlier this year, Vancouver city council voted unanimously in favour of asking staff to investigate how to derive 100 percent of energy used in the city through renewable sources.
