Officer-involved shooting in New Westminster leaves one person in critical condition
One person is in critical condition following an officer-involved shooting near the Queensborough Landing Walmart on Boyd Street in New Westminster.
New West Police said that around noon, they responded to a call reporting a disturbance. After locating and confronting the suspect, he was shot by police and immediately taken to hospital.
The department tweeted that they were "in the early stages of investigating a serious incident in Queensborough" at 12:22 p.m. this afternoon.

Investigators from the Independent Investigations Office are on scene and are currently interviewing witnesses and police officers. While two areas of the mall have been blocked off by police tape, Walmart and other stores at the Landing are still open.
