Early this morning, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team tweeted that it was looking into a killing in Port Coquitlam.

It came after a shooting around 9 p.m. on Friday (January 22).

Over Twitter, IHIT stated that the 2100 block of Rindall Avenue would be blocked for several hours.

It added that there would be no further updates issued.

Meanwhile, CBC News has reported that IHIT investigators are looking into a death behind Baselines Pub in Langley. The Mounties have not released any details.

IHIT was created in 2003 in the wake of a Port Coquitlam pig farmer, Robert William Pickton, being arrested and charge in connection with the deaths of Downtown Eastside sex workers.

IHIT brings together experienced homicide investigators to investigate murders in Lower Mainland municipalities with the exception of Delta Vancouver.
