A passenger on a flight from Newark to Vancouver has revealed that his plane made an emergency landing in Toronto.

Vancouver resident  Milun Tesovic tweeted that Air Canada Flight 549 lost pressure at 36,000 feet.

That resulted in the Airbus A319's rapid descent to 10,000 feet with passengers donning masks that popped down from overhead compartments.

After the plane landed, Tesovic praised the crew and pilot for doing a "great job" before boarding another flight to Vancouver.

There are no reports of injuries and the cause of the problem has not been revealed.

CTV's Paul Karwatsky tweeted a graphic representation of the change in altitude over a five-minute period.
